London on Foot, Walking Tour!

This morning we got up early (which was the be the deifning trend on our trip) and checked out the free hostel breakfast. Ashley: coffee. Me: Two pieces of toast and a bowl of cereal with questionable milk that I would later end up regretting, "milk was a bad choice". We then walked to Trafalgar Square where our Royal Walking Tour would begin, led by a high-spirited no nonsense Brit named Lucy. She led the way to St. James Palace, waving her British flag over her head to herd us all along the way and giving us the lowdown on the royal family history and some discourse on the Queen's jubilee. While at St. James Palace (which is no longer lived in but still holds a great importance: its balcony is where all big announcements are made from still today. It is where Will and Kate announced their engagement) we watched the new guard check arms and the band fire up. Before we knew it, it was GO TIME! We marched beside the new guard all the way to Buckingham Palace where they replaced the old guard- the palace is guarded 24/7.. must be nice to be Queen.
After the walking tour, more busing around town and Kensington Palace to check out more Royal Cribs plus the Gardens!
Finally, we met up with Pau for dinner and found Platform 9 and 3/4 :)
