Paris Day 2
After the Louvre we walked through the Jardin de Tuileries, Place de la Concorde, and down the Champs Elysees all the way to the Arc de Triomphe. We did a little shopping, people watching, and eating along the way of course. We walked in the pedestrian tunnel under the roundabout circling the arc in order to stand underneath it. Back on the outside of the traffic circle, we hopped on our Paris bus tour for day 1. From the top deck, we wwatched tourists be tourists: standing in the road to get a picture of themselves with the arc and running at the last second.
The bus took us all around Paris to see the major sights and some beautiful residential areas to hear history via the recorded commentary. We took advantage of some photo opps of the Eiffel Tower and later headed to the St. Eustache Church for a free organ concert then some chocolates down the street then to Montparnasse Tower for our second aerial view of the city. Montparnasse is the only skyscraper in Paris and is controversial for that reason. It reminded me of being on Top of the Rock in NYC.
