Second day at La Mora! Woke up early to eat breakfast at ocean front cafe Luigi owned by an Italian guy named Luigi who finishes every sentence or question with "bella". He's the best. Then a full day the beach playing volleyball, building sand sculptures just the way poppa Viars taught me, and swimming in the ocean! Later that night we ate dinner at the same restaurant as the night before ready to be stuffed with delicious food as well as enjoy an exciting futbol atmosphere as it was the biggest match of the year (Kind of like the Super Bowl)! To the people of Catalunya it's more than just soccer (hence the slogan mes de un club: More than a club). Barca is a symbolize of Catalunya as a nation. In much of Europe and especially Catalunya, futbol is more than a sport, it's politics. Barcelona vs Manchester United at Wembley. The restaurant was full of faithful Barca fans who were anything but quiet. Barca won 3-1and of the 4 goals scored I missed 4 of them. That's right... the first one I was in the bathroom. The rest I looked away for a split second and BAM, goal. Just my luck. Thank goodness for instant replay.
