DIA 333... 1 de junio 2011
I woke up this morning and knew it was going to be a great day for two reasons. 1. Unlike yesterday when it pourred (or as the spainish say llover chuzos de punta), there isn´t a cloud in the sky today. 2. we ended up not having a quiz in my first class... ¡menos mal! On top of all that, Amy and I got Nutella to snack on today between classes. Enough said. After classes and lunch, a trip to Montserrat (which translated means serrated mountain and it is easy to see why). We were explained the legend of Montserrat and "La Moreneta" (the patron saint of Catalunya) but it's too long to write it all. Long story short, almost every person from Catalunya takes a sort of pilgrimmage to Montserrat at least once in their lives. It was an adventurous drive up the mountain (it reminded me of the way the taxis drove around curvy mountain roads in the Virgin Islands..) but we finally made it to the top alive and it was worth the trip. Beautiful views of the valley and a walk through the monastery. It was very peaceful with the gentle sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows; illuminating everything and filling the room from the pews all the way up to the high arching ceiling. I could have sat there for hours but alas we had to head back to Tarragona for dinner!
