Orientation Day 1 at UPeace

Today we got up bright and early after catching up on some much needed sleep. Breakfast of eggs, toast, and delicious costa rican coffee... it's really growing on me already.

We walked with another student who lives on the property to the bus stop down the hill in the "centro" de Ciudad Colon. We ran into all of our classmates, road the bus together to UPeace, and had a long day of orientation, submitting documents and passport photos, listening to presentations and information, and even being greeted by the Mayor of Mora County (which Ciudad Colon is a part of).. VIP...

After lunch in the cafeteria and a few more presentations we took a hike to the top of a mountain on a strenuous trail behind the campus of UPeace. It was like an outdoor stairstepper, but we made it to the top where fantastic views and fresh made papusas were waiting for us.

We hiked back down to campus, boarded the bus, and headed back to Ciudad Colon below. A quick shower to wash off the smell of success from hiking the mountain, pasta for dinner, and the Hobbit (in english with spanish subtitles... SCORE!) in the mall with Jeni (the roomie), Veronica (mi hermana tica), and her boyfriend.
