Ashley's Epic Visit: Part 3: La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano

After the Rio Celeste trip, the bus dropped us off right in the center of our next destination, the town of La Fortuna, saving us many more hours on a public bus. There we met our 2nd volcano in a week, Arenal Volcano. Usually shrouded by clouds also, we were unusually lucky and got great views of the entire volcano every day there almost!

We were with 3 other kids who were on the Rio Celeste who ended up staying at the same hostel, which was AWESOME by the way!! Hammocks, pool, tents, etc... all awesome!

We hiked to a waterfall and took a swim, hiked near the volcano and saw a giant 400 year old tree, relaxed in the free hot springs, went on a ziplining adventure, and ate lots of delicious casados.

A wonderful visit and a typical public transportation trip home... stuck behind an incident in the mountain for a few hours without moving... pura vida.
