Fortunately for us, (and all my classmates who got to meet my delightful sister of course!) Ashley's visit lined up with one of Esteban and Leo's famous unofficial UPEACE trips. This one was to Rio Celeste, a river near Arenal where the water is an amazing bright blue due to the mixing of two rivers and the chemicals that combine where they meet. According to another student's travel book, one of three places in the world this happens!!
Nice hike with good friends and lunch afterwards. Views were totally worth the sulfur/cat tuna smells coming from the water.
