Today my family and friends participated in the cardboard boat regatta at Aquia Landing for the Ruritan Club Fundraiser. It was my mom's idea and she roped my dad into not only helping her build the boat but also getting in the boat. We volunteered our family friend Noah to get in the boat and Linda to paint the boat. When we arrived we quickly sized up the competition (the most intriguing characters being the father/son Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer duo posing in front of their Robert E. Lee paddle boat... it's a regatta, not halloween) Before the races the boat were selected for prices by the judges. Our Parrot Head boat got runner up for most Sea-Worthy. Then the races began! I thought it was going to be ONE big race but there were a multitude of categories and you could race in any you qualified for. Parent child, business class (the real-estate people raced), luxury liner (4 or more people), 3 different age groups, etc. Team Parrot Head pulled off a 2nd place in the parent-chihld race. At the end any boat left floating raced in the Grand Finale, and the Parrot Head takes home gold! 1st place= a sailboat trophy, a bunch of coupons, and the bragging rights of being champion!!

Great accounting of the story! Thank you and your parents for including me and Noah in the winning team! ha ha Noah had a blast and shows "his" trophy to everyone that comes thru that door! Your pix are awesome!
My story telling with pictures borders on stalking but it's worth it! So fun :)
